Biking to Quan Son lake

Itinerary in details

• DAY01: HANOI - QUAN SON LAKE

  7.30am: you will be picked up at you hotel for driving south to Te Tieu town.  It is about 65km and it will take you about 2 hours.

  Arrive at the town,  you will take a short rest and have some vietnamese tea in a local family then you will visit a local market. It is the most famous market in the region where there are many traditional items for sales. People from all the surrounding villages would come to trade. People bring dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and bamboo baskets to sell. Everyone is excited to meet each other on that day. You will be surprised about bustling and colorful market which is working under the canopy of old tree. You will see the old woman chew betel and areca nut and blacksmiths work hard with his bright brazier.

  If not on market days, you still visit the nice market with local product for selling as: Fish, vegetable, fruits, meat shops and chatting with local people at the market.

  After the market, you will take the bicycle to bike about 12 km to Quan Son Lake, on the way, you will pass through the nice vegetable farms with a variety of produce including: bitter melon, corn, cauliflower, cabbage, tomatoes, green peas, soybean  as well as fruit gardens with oranges, pomelos, papaya, guava banana and more., and you may have chance to join a farmer working in his field on the way and ask experienced for local farmers about cultivation techniques and lifestyle.

  Arrive at the lake, you wil get on a small boat rowing on Quan Son Lake to the Tiger mountain.  Visit this island and clim to the top of the mountain where you have a nice view of the lake.

  Return to the boat then you will continue the cruising to enjoy the beautifull lanscape. Along the river, it is very quite. You can hear the sound water crush into the boat. Somewhere, you see the local people plant vegetable, rice or collecting the snail, crap or mussels… One part of the river, water is very clear; you can the water plants as if there is a lush garden under the water.

  Retur to the family by bike and have some cooking class, you will prepare some special Vietnamese dishes with simple and traditional recipes.

  Enjoy local fresh vegetable, fruit, traditional cake and talk about Vietnamese family's custom together

  Going back to Hanoi.
