Only drink mineral bottled water, which is available everywhere. Tap water is not drinkable. Also try to avoid ice, although it is generally safe in the cities and resorts.

Avoid raw vegetables, unpeeled fruits, uncooked meats, shellfish, milk and dairy products.

Take an antimalarial treatment before arrival only if you go to the South (province of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu, Mekong Delta), in highlands below 1500m, or in forest and border areas of Vietnam.

Use a mosquito repellent (body and tissue) to protect you against malaria, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis and Zika virus.

Recommended vaccinations are: Adult diphtheria and tetanus, measles, mumps and rubella, typhoid, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Japanese B encephaliti.
